Werk is a mobile application that helps watch collectors photograph, identify, and catalog their watches. Werk is operated by Macbeth Labs, a sole proprietorship registered in British Columbia, Canada.

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your information. We do not train artificial intelligence models on your photos or watch data.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share information only with the third-party service providers necessary to operate Werk. Each provider is bound by its own terms governing how it handles data on our behalf.

Anthropic (PBC) — AI identification provider.
When you photograph a watch, the image is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for identification. The image is processed to determine the watch's brand, model, reference, and other identifying details, which are returned to the app. Anthropic's privacy practices are available at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

Supabase Inc. — data storage provider.
Your account information, watch records, photos, and documents are stored on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase acts as a data processor on our behalf. Supabase's privacy practices are available at supabase.com/privacy.

Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry) — crash and error reporting.
When the app crashes or encounters an error, diagnostic data is sent to Sentry to help us debug. Sentry's privacy practices are available at sentry.io/privacy/.

PostHog Inc. — product analytics.
Anonymous and pseudonymous usage events (screen views, feature interactions, app launches) are sent to PostHog so we can understand aggregate usage patterns. PostHog's privacy practices are available at posthog.com/privacy.

Apple Inc. — authentication.
Sign in with Apple is operated by Apple. Apple's privacy practices regarding Sign in with Apple are available at apple.com/legal/privacy/data/en/sign-in-with-apple.

We do not share your personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or any party not listed above. We may disclose information when required by law (e.g., in response to a valid legal process).

5. Your Rights and Choices

You can exercise the following rights through the app or by contacting us at support@werk.watch.

Access and export. Contact us to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

Correction. You can edit your display name, watch records, and uploaded content directly in the app.

Deletion of your account. You can permanently delete your Werk account at any time by going to Profile → Delete Account inside the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your watches, photos, documents, profile, and authentication record from our systems. This action cannot be undone.

To also revoke Sign in with Apple's connection to Werk after deletion, visit Settings → Apple ID → Sign in with Apple → Werk on your iPhone, or appleid.apple.com → Sign in with Apple from a browser.

Marketing. We do not send marketing or promotional emails. We may send transactional emails related to account security or service notifications.

Analytics opt-out. Anonymous analytics are essential to our beta and early-launch operations. If this is a concern, please contact us at support@werk.watch.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account remains active. When you delete your account, we delete all associated data from our active systems within a reasonable period (typically 7 days).

Backups may persist for a limited additional period (typically 30 days) before being overwritten in the normal course of our backup rotation. We do not actively access backup data except to restore service from operational failures.

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS) for all communications between the app and our servers, encrypted storage at rest with Supabase, and access controls limiting which personnel can access user data.

No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a data breach that affects your information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

8. International Users

Werk is operated from British Columbia, Canada. If you use Werk from outside Canada, your information will be transferred to and processed in Canada and the United States, where our service providers operate. By using Werk, you consent to this transfer.

9. Children's Privacy

Werk is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, when required by law, notify you through the app or via email.

Your continued use of Werk after we publish an updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
